| September 20, 2010-The Detroit Lions rookie running back Jahvid Best is off to a fabulous start in his young NFL career. He has played a total of two games so far and has been very impressive. The Lions have suffered two tough losses to open the 2010 NFL season. The first game, the Lions had appeared to have won the game against the Bears with a late touchdown catch by wide receiver Calvin Johnson. But the refs ruled that Johnson did not have control of the ball as he came down. Replays show that Calvin DID control the ball and the Lions should have beaten the Bears. They got totally robbed! A stupid NFL rule that needs to be looked at and revised in my opinion.
And yesterday the Lions suffered yet another tough loss. Michael Vick and the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Lions in a shootout by the score of 35-32. Jahvid Best had a great game. He rushed for 78 yards on 17 carries. But the most impressive stat from yesterday's game is the fact that he scored 3 touchdowns, two rushing and one receiving. In that first game against the Bears, Jahvid Best become the first player since Ladanian Tomlinson to score two rushing touchdowns in his first career NFL game.
Jahvid Best now has 4 rushing TD's and one receiving in the first two weeks of his career. A very nice start for an up and coming Detroit Lions team. Lions' fans should be excited about their young team. Along with Jahvid Best, the Lions also have Matthew Stafford, Calvin Johnson and Ndamukong Suh. It's amazing how well this young team has improved since they got rid of bonehead Matt Millen as their general manager.
Even though I am not a Detroit Lions fan myself (I'm a 49ers' fan by the way), I'm still pulling for the kid Jahvid Best to do well in his NFL career. Best is from Vallejo, California. I grew up in Fairfield, California, 14 miles from Vallejo. So you see, I got to root for the local kid to do well..lol!
